Optical Drives BluRay drive spin-up issue?

I'm kind of curious if anyone else has experienced this. I'm not entirely sure if it's just my BluRay drive, or if it somehow has something to do with DVDFab's BluRay Copy/Ripper. It seems like every time i copy a BluRay movie, if i don't eject the source disc either before i click Finish, or shortly thereafter, the drive will gradually spin up to what sounds like full speed over the course of a few seconds, and will not stop without either unplugging the power to the drive, or rebooting my computer... with either method requiring a reboot for the drive to be seen again. It only ever seems to happen to the drive that the source disc is in... which is a Lite-On DH-401S. It also doesn't really seem to matter what version of DVDFab i'm using, since it's been like this for the last couple updates, too (and i say that because i only just started copying BluRay's somewhat recently).

Do you have the latest firmware on the Blu-ray drive?
