my ? is. Im backing up my dvd on my hard drive but when i go to burn it, it goes thru the copy process again (15 min) and then the writing starts (15 more min) it seems that i used to be able to just burn the disc without going thru the copy process considering i have it on my hard drive already using dvdfab the whole way

If you use Imgburn as a standalone burner there is no copy before burning.

What product are you using?
Do you have a license that is up to date and is the product properly activated?
Is your burner properly populated in the Target box?
You can always select Write Data mode and this will burn the Source file directly...no re-ripping at all.
You will not be able to modify the source file however, it must fit on an SL disc...presumably this is what you're doing???
