Blank Media Can a DVD+R blank disc be used to burn a Blu Ray copy?

What kind of media can be used to burn Blu Ray discs?

Yes. You can use DVD+R. I've been using Sony DVD+R from Costco as they are sometimes only $18 for 100. But you know there is a quality downgrade in doing so unless you use the customize split function and multiple DVDs.

Also, you did not specify if you intended to play the DVD in a standard player.

I should have said the current DVDFab Blu-ray Copy - Main Movie mode can support burning to DVD disc. Set the target Size in the lower area of DVDFab main screen as BD5 or BD9.

Choose "BD5", DVDFab will compress the material to make it fit on one BD5/DVD5 disc.
Choose "BD9", DVDFab will compress your blu-ray titles to BD9/DVD9 disc.

And the backup DVD disc can not play on standalone DVD player, since Blu-ray Copy won't transfer Blu-ray format to DVD standard, files on this DVD disc are still m2ts format.

So in short you should buy 25gb blu-rays to back up movies or but Blu-ray to DVD made by DVDFAB. I own the program and love it. I however dont mind the downgrade to dvd its still better looking than the dvds you buy from a store.
