Blank Media why do i have to format rewrittable bd-r?

Whenever it gets to the disc burning it tells me I have to format my blu ray rewrittable disc, that usually takes Longer to do then the actually burning process, but when I use a regualr bd-r disc I don't have to format it, I use imagburner to burn the discs, am I doing something wrong?

I have no answer due to I havent used my BD-RE alot. However when I do I sometimes get asked that and it drives me nuts. I think may have to do with it erasing all the data thats wrote to the BD gets erased including the formatting? I know what you mean about how long it takes for a 25gb is forever I can imagine how long a BD-RE DL would take.

Well its doesn't ask to format on my regular bd-r discs, only my bd-re, and it takes longer for it to format then it does to burn the disc, it does drive me nuts,

If BR works the same as DVD, first time used it will be formatted. After the first time ImgBurn will just overwrite the DVD. Set DVDFab to overwrite like I have in the attachment as see if it works for you.
