Hey guys. What exactly happens when I choose remove HD audio. Does it convert it to a 5.1 "lower quality" rip or does it make it stereo or what does it do exactly?

If you select DTS-HD Master Audio to DTS, does the DTS have 5.1 surround or is it just stereo. Sorry if the answer is obvious.
