Hello,
I'm trying to convert my DVD movie library for use in my Media Center (extender in use is a Xbox360). The wife is hating the DVD dust collection bookshelf.......and I can't blame her.

I can convert my movies to wmv file, but weird things happen when playing back on the xbox. Only the background music is the only sound I hear, and the video plays fine and is super clear.
702x480 and I have only one choice of audio.

Is there a suggested procedure for folks who wish to use a movies library in MCE? (what format is best.., what resolution...etc..etc..)
My audio on my Xbox360 is a toslink connection to my reciever.

Try the generic.avi.xvid.audiocopy profile.

There is a known bug in the WMV profiles that the developers are working on but the timeframe is unknown.

I think, from memory, you have to do a hack on MCE for it to stream AVI's but after that, it is all good.

What OS are you using? Xp, Vista or windows 7?

I stream all my ripped DVDs to my Xbox 360 as well so let me know what OS you have and I can let you know how to do it
