Hi,
Is there a way to get optimal processing speed from a drive? I just bought an ASUS N47U and it says it's a super multi drive but my old Toshiba R835 puts this to shame with more than 8x ripping. Although the Toshiba would shake, rattle and roll, it was pretty damn fast in finishing up a movie in <15mins. CPU is not being max'd out and even took the cpu parking off.
Is this due to the decoder? Manufacturer? They are the same manufacturer, so does not make sense to me. Is there a way to allocate more to it? I have tried to change my power setting to high, with no change. I have nothing else running to make it priority and even changed the startup of DVDfab to be high.
Is it the decoder? Any advice on how to get it to be fast like the Toshiba? The Toshiba used to hit 9 sometimes. I tried changing from intel-sync to software to see if there was a difference and nothing really changed.
There is nothing in the bios, so nothing there.
Thanks,
Ray
