    CPU/GPU Bug: Mis-identifies the GPU

In a system having both an HD5850 and a GTX570, DVDFab 8.1.8.5 identifies the wrong GPU as being CUDA capable.
    • 0m 01.77s: GPUAccelerate: 12795
      0m 01.77s: CUDA cap: 1
      0m 01.79s: Support coreavc decode: 0
      0m 01.79s: Graphics info: ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series : 4.20 : 2.0
0m 01.79s: Qt Translator file load success
      0m 01.85s: Load config successful.
0m 01.85s: Init profile data driver sucessful.
0m 04.68s: Init GPU settings sucessful.

CUDA acceleration was actually used and the compression went fast. Obviously, the ATI graphics board is incapable of CUDA, and should not have been identified as such in the log.

While this is has no impact on performance, in order to used two instances of DVDFabs CUDA compression, one must be able to identify the proper boards to use if there were two CUDA capable boards in the system.

    Thanks for looking!

Please do not double post, I have deleted the one this morning on the same subject. One is enough, wait for a response.

      Hi BeemerBiker:
DVDfab have no limited only one graphics work.
The acceleration performance of HD5850 is lower than GTX570. It is bottleneck. According to our testing result the best performance is Internal sandy bridge and CUDA. ATI is not good at encoding acceleration. So please don't set HD5850 in the Common setting page.

        Thanks!

Note: This also explains why on another system I own, the GTS250 was used instead of the GTX460. I assume you pick the first one that is discovered when enumerating. You might consider picking the best one when more than one type of CUDA GPU is available.
