Media Player - What is it? What can it do for me?

but with having the .iso access, you will have full access to chapter menus and all that stuff, plus if you ever needed to reburn a disk.. its in .iso allready. All set to go. That is what gets me excited.

Question: I know it depends on settings specified in conversions, but how much difference is there in general when converting to MKV and havnig the same quality? Is it worth the time to go through the conversion?

Apart from the obvious hardware differences (28" monitor vs. a 60" Pioneer)...much of it is personal opinion
as to what looks great, ok or lousy.

An eg., I've used a few times ....

True Grit BD ~27 GB (main movie)
Converted to mkv.h264.audiocopy with the kbps up at about 15,000
(this is approx where I keep it for action flicks).

Resultant file size ~12GB (and the audiocopy profile retains HD audio)

Looks fantastic when viewed on a 42" HDTV via my AIOS media player (hdds x 10 TB's)

Great. Thanks for the info. Was just curious.
For 'guesstimation' purposes, I will just say that file sizes could be cut somewhere down to 'half' if I went MKV. (based off your example)
