    New Hard Disk Drive

    Hi,
    I don't know where to put this...
    I installed a new HHD. All drivers are current. My dvd drive, HP DVD1270t plays the movie perfectly. The movie's files are visible in win 7 explorer. DvdFab doesn't open the movie. The light on the drive isn't flashing. I've had this software for years and can't tell you if the light on the dvd drive is supposta be flashing! It is spinning or at least making a noise. I just don't know what the problem could be. Anyone have an idea? Posting logs.
    I sure hope someone knows what is wrong and can please help me.

    Do you have any on the fly decrypters working in the back ground, or auto play enabled for any programs?

    If so please disable them and try again.

    Try resetting DMA Open Fab Click the Green √ top right > General > make sure Check for DMA Automatically is Checked and also Click the Reset DMA to the right click OK and restart Fab, you may also have to restart your computer.


    Open Fab Click the Green √ top right > General >DVD/Blu-Ray> Read try changing the I/O mode from either Auto to ASPI, or SPTI to see if Fab will now read the disc.

      No on the fly or auto play.
      Reset the DMA and changing the I/O mode to both ASPI and to SPTI.
      Still no luck. The drive seems to be working cause I can play the movie and see the files.

          I don't know anything about that HP drive, but if it requires a specific driver it would have been lost in the shuffle on the old HDD. Might check that out?

            After a very long time, the "open dvd source" box came up and the blue bar just keeps running and running.

              Device Manager says the driver for the dvd drive is the best one. Isn't that where I need to look?

                You might want to check the HP support web site to see if there is a driver specific to that particular optical drive. MS update will load the best driver it has access to but maybe not the best there is?

                  OK, got'cha. Since I've just let it run it has finally opened the disc and copied it successfully. I am burning to a new disc now. It took about 30/40 mins to see the disc and read it but the regular amount of time to copy it once the disc got 'into' the software.

                    No, can't find a different driver, it's a HP Writer 1270t dvd drive.
