Other Hardware i7 2600 SandyBridge 3.4GHz Motherboard Chipset

Hi all, is there a specific chipset that needs to be on the Motherboard for use with a i7 SandyBridge Processor? I was going to go for the Z77 Chipset, but is there a preferred chipset that i should have?

    cheers.

I have the i5 2500k Intel processor, which is second generation! I have the Z68-D3-B3 motherboard, which all M/B's with Z68 are SandyBridge!

The i7 2600k intel processor and the i5 2500k doesn't support Quick Sync or some other features! The Z68 M/B's are SandyBridge! The 'K' means you can overclock the cpu!

The Z77 is the new platform and uses the third generation i7 or i5 and the ones with the 'K' are for O/Cing!

This is from my understanding, some others my chime in and really know what you want to know!

i5-2500K has Quick Sync, I'm using it right now on an Intel DH67CL motherboard. The "K" means the chip is unlocked.
