Audio Question

Hi,
I'm running 9.0.1.5 and would like to know what settings I should use when ripping Blu Ray to MKV to get Lossless Audio. I used 5.1 multichannel and according to the program "Mediainfo" the Audio was "Lossy". Basically I want the highest quality audio and video when ripping Blu Rays to MKV files regardless of file size. What settings should I use?

MKV.passthrough or MKV.h264.audiocopy will give you what you want.

Thanks 90312. That is the setting I used in the previous versions of Fab but (until now) could not find that setting with this new GUI. After some digging, I have it now. Thanks again.

Question. Is MKV.passthrough or MKV.h264.audiocopy the same thing, or is it one or the other. I ask because nowhere do I see an option for MKV.passthrough.

I guess we were typing at the same time. The MKV.h264.audiocopy format will re-encode the video and the MKV passthrough will pass both the audio and video through to the container, makes a larger file but great quality.

As you were typing, I was digging. I found exactly what you just excellently described. I will try the passthrough method. What size files do you typically get? I know the sizes vary greatly, but I'm curious as to how much larger a passthrough file is compared to the MKV.h264.audiocopy method.

Let us know how you come out. And the file will be a lot bigger, depends on the source.
