Region codes

I have The Banana Splits First season on DVD for region 2, I tried burning with DVD Fab 9 disc 1 was unreadable in my Panasonic Blu-Ray SA BT-230 player. I have had no problem in the past just this region 2 DVD, can I crack the original disc or do I have the wrong burn settings in place.
