Other Original PAR vs PAR 1:1

I always wondered why DVDFab changes the original PAR (pixel aspect ratio) which is responsible for the Display Aspect (4:3 / 16:9) to a PAR=1:1

By doing this I have to get the wide screen by changing the movie itself. Does this give a BETTER quality then just using the original PAL (720x568) with its pixels/PAR definition?

Hope th get some answers about the why(s)..

The black bars are not encoded if the video is letterboxed it wastes space and time.

It's mainly because some players don't follow PAR in video file.
DVDFab is the all-in-one software package for copying Blu-ray/DVD and converting video file.

OK. But than again, that must be old players? My point is, that if I use a program that does handle PAR=1.4222 for a 16:9 PAL display I get much higher Bits/(Pixel*Frame).
        Bit rate mode: Variable
        Bit rate: 4 740 Kbps
Maximum bit rate: 7 500 Kbps
        Width: 720 pixels
        Height: 576 pixels
        Display aspect ratio (DAR): 16:9
        Standard: PAL
        Bits/(Pixel*Frame): 0.457

The latter is only 0.327 using DVDfab with the same bit rate but creating the movie with 1024x576 with a PAR 1:1

That's why I asked if the quality suffers by changing the original PAR.
