DVDFab 9055 and 9060 Crash Windows During Install

I've been using DVDFab for quite some time now and never experienced this before. I recently downloaded two trial versions of the software (9055 and 9060) and installed them to my new Windows 8 build only to find that the installer runs to 99%+ done before the computer locks up and needs to be shutdown via the power button.

I don't know what the problem is so I need a little help troubleshooting. Please advise. The results are the same if the installation is done in compatibility mode, with elevated privileges, or from my standard account.

Don't select run, save the installer to your HDD, locate it and right click and run as administrator.

Thank you for your reply. The installer is saved to my desktop. Note, I do not have problems installing to a Windows 7 VM. Any other ideas?
