Tried the trial. Really like the bluray options so I registered. I get two key files in e-mail, one for dvdfab6 and one for dvdfab bluray to bluray. Not sure which one to use so tried them both after complete uninstalls and registry cleanups. I can't get either to switch off the trial version in windows 7. What am I missing or is this supposed to be painful?

OK, figured it out. Hopefully this will save someone else some time. At least in Win 7, even logged in under an admin acct, right click on the exe and "Run as Administrator". That seemed to fix all the issues. -
