HUGE slowdown when going from 6.0.7 (trial) to 6.2.0.5 (Paid version)

Just registered (and purchased) an official copy of DVDFAB after extensive (trial) use and being convinced it was the software package I needed.

I had been using version 6.0.7.0 on my trial, and when I purchased the paid version, downloaded the newest client (6.2.0.5) and began using that.

On the older version, I had full disc, DVD9 backups taking anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes, maximum. With the newer, paid version now, the *exact* same procedure is now taking 80-100 minutes... What is going on here? I'm certainly not happy with a trial product being 800% faster than the paid product...

Is there anyone else seeing this, or something I can double check on my settings?

    Please check your DMA status.
Fab > Common Settings > General > Reset DMA..

If you have continued problems, click on the DMA link in my sig below.

There's no difference between the trial and paid applications except that the "trial" version ceases to work after 30 days.

          Same issue

Hi: I too experienced a dramatic slow-down in ripping (up to 7 hours to rip a single disc). I used the DMA reset in Fab (twice), but, no luck. I've taken a look at the links you posed for more "advanced" problem solving and I've a question re: re-enabling DMA

I'm ripping via a CD/DVD drive that is plugged into a Windows Home Server. I've remote desk-topped into the Server, right clicked on "My Computer," went to the properties tab, etc. When I click on the plus sign to the left of IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller, it doesn't bring up a secondary IDE channel. I see only one listing, and clicking on that listing doesn't bring up anyplace to change the relevant setting from PIO only to DMA when available. Any suggested solutions? Many thanks.

            Hi Guys,
Just got Blu-ray to Blu-ray. Checked out the DMA/PIO thread (lots and lots of stuff there). Does it apply to Windows 7? And also, I am curious to know how long it takes to rip Main Movie (disk or iso) to BD25. From above, 7 hrs is too much, but what is reasonable?
            Thanks,
            Ron...
