Optical Drives 3D or Not 3D, that is the question

    Hello all,

I'm a newbie here and also a newbie to the world of ripping dvd/Blu-rays.

At present I'm working my way through my collection of DVD and ripping them to a hard disc, that's all going fine.

I recently purchased a 3D TV and blu-ray player and would like to rip those disc as well. I don't have a blu-ray drive in my pc so was going to purchase an external one to do the ripping with, does the drive I buy have to be able to actually play 3D blu-rays in order to rip them or would a non-3D drive be ok?

You can use a normal BluRay Read/Write Drive to rip 3D movies.
The drive it self does not need to be a special 3D drive.
