PC Freezes every 30 seconds or so if Blu ray is NOT in the drive

    Hey all,

I've looked everywhere and can't find this mentioned, but if this is a dupe, I apologize. After I updated to the latest version of the free Decrypter HD, I noticed that my PC would freeze for about 3 seconds every 30 seconds or so. I ripped a few DVDs that way, but it got annoying so I tried restarting. No luck. So randomly I popped a blu ray disc into my blu ray drive (lite-on 4x internal) and all the pauses stopped. So I went back to ripping DVDs on my other DVD drive.

Any idea why this is happening? Is it a bug, or can I do something on my end to prevent it without having to keep a blu ray disc in the drive at all times?

    Thanks

DVDFab checks for disc insertion every so often. Maybe the driver for the Blu-Ray drive has a delay in figuring out that the drive is empty which hangs the system.

That makes sense. Oh well I guess it's not the end of the world if I have to leave a disc in. I can't find new firmware/drivers for the drive(the iHOS104-08) yet, but if you are correct hopefully they'll release some soon that will fix the problem. Thanks for the help.
