    IMG Burn link...

As I stated in my post about Power Calibration Errors and Invalid Command issues, I bought a new computer recently (about a month ago) and have been having issues with DVD Fab ever since. I downloaded it on to the new computer but have not been able to run DVD Fab with the Windows 8.1 operating system. But my question in this link is this...

The reason that I had to purchase a new computer is because when I attempted to download IMG Burn to the old computer, SO MUCH virus came with it that it TOTALLY locked up and infected my computer to the point that I simply had to get rid of it and purchase a new one. My question is does ANYONE have a link or know a link to IMG Burn so that I may download it without the same thing happening to my new computer. At this point I am afraid to download it again even though I agree that it is the best burning software program. (just don't want my new computer ruined)

Download ImgBurn only from the official ImgBurn site, these other sites that offer it add their own crap to it. Even then carefully read each dialogue box during install and you can decline the offers of other included software. I just installed it clean on one of my W7 systems. I also recommend Malwarebytes Pro to prevent and remove adware and malware that slips by your antivirus program, saved my butt many times.

Yeah, I was using Trend and it didn't catch anything. Computer completely locked up and had to be destroyed. I even tried to get it cleaned by remote and they couldn't even connect to my computer.

      Thanks

        Ramrod1328,

Twice a week and always before I download a new program, I always make an image of my drive using Acronis True Image (takes less than 10 minutes). I have never been impressed with system restore but if I ever feel that what I am doing may cause problems, I make an image of my drive. Since I do this twice a week anyway, I can always reimage to a condition a few days ago.

What does it cost? You need an external drive (USB 2.0 or 3.0) large enough to hold your images. Should be around $100 USD and Acronis Premium 2014 is on sale at Newegg for $40. You could also use Windows built-in system backup but it creates much larger files and is slower than Acronis. Regardless, this solution is cheaper than a new computer and reimaging gives you a fresh start.

You still have the old system Ramrod? I've brought several back to life.

            Thanks guys

yes I do have the old computer and system. Didn't get rid of it because I hope to find a way to transfer all my info from the hard drive to the new computer. I was told to buy what is called an EZ connect from micro center.
            Any suggestions?
