Playing DVD on hard drive

Hi, I am using the free version of DVD fab to copy all my dvd's onto one hard drive. The problem I have is when I try and play them back off the hard drive and use the mouse to highlight the options at the start of certain dvd's i.e one that has several episodes on, the icons dont light up (they are inactive) so I cant choose which episode I want to watch. Has anybody got any ideas. Thanks
