I had TWO questions on subtitles if anyone can help.
I wanted to clarify the difference between "Remux into file" vs the "Extract to idx/sub" option.
Question One: Does "Remux into file" have ANY effect on either the video or audio quality?
The "Extract to idx/sub" option. I know some video players might have issues reading separated subtitles and that this is a "picture-based" subtitle with the original look/color.
Question Two: In regards to the info above, I assume you lose any of this look/color when using Remux vs idx/sub?
I rip my files to VOB and M2TS at .5 bits/pixel for maximum quality and backup if that info changes anything. I realize it's overkill because you can't see a difference at a certain point but getting as close to the original is what I want. File size is not an issue for me.
It sounds like the way I am doing my files, I would want the separated subs (Extract to idx/sub) for the original look. I would just have to keep an eye out for video players having trouble reading separated subtitles.
Thanks for the input/help!
