    PathPlayer (what does it do?)

I been noticing that PathPlayer makes a big difference in being able to copy certain dvds to others when surfing through the forum and so I just have one little question. What the heck is it specificly?
I love having the power to break copyright protection. Ever since I've discovered it I've hated it. It's great for putting video on an ipod. So I thank the team here for what they do.

    A simple, non-technical explanation:-

Pathplayer navigates through the disk as it was actually playing the DVD and finds the valid content.

The new attempts at copy protection are inserting dummy entries with heavy protection that do not get played in a normal set top player and Pathplayer attempts to identify these and remove them from being needed to be processed.

For older moves Pathplayer will sometimes need to be turned off.
Otherwise leave it set as Always Enabled.

Never use Enable When Necessary. This setting has been known to cause problems.

Older movies that do not have the new protection schemes.

Sometimes Pathplayer can get confused with these.

Sometimes PP causes Fab to stumble with some newer disc structure/copy protections, although this is rare.
In short, do as advised by GregiBoy and Gruñón and you'll be in good shape.
If the rip fails, altering your PP setting is one of the first things to try...either toggle off or on, depending.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
