    Copy / Write Speed

I apologize in advance if this is a silly question.

I do not understand why when I set the DVD write speed to 2.4x it apparently ends up burning at a much higher speed during the copy process (last time it showed 6.7x).

    Thanks,

    Mark

What burning engine are you using Mark?

Sorry for the late reply. I am using the (default) VSO burning engine.

      Thanks for the help.

It took me a while to figure out how to get the files you asked for (this is a little above my pay grade).

The disc copied at 6.5x (per the message on the bottom of the DVDFab screen).

          Thanks again for the help.

Your burn log indicates you are requesting 16x write speed "2016-03-03 09:05:02 Info Writing speed requested x16.0, effective x16.0"
            See attachment to set:

Good job on the logs by the way.

Also your log indicates that the combination of optical drive and blank media does not support 2.4x burning, 6x is the minimum supported. If using 16x media I would set it to 8x.

I can now see that it shows I am requesting 16X. I'm not.......but your answer indicating the drive/media combo won't allow 2.4x makes sense. I'll go with the 8x per your advice. Just trying to minimize write errors and generally upgrade write quality. Thanks for your help - couldn't figure this one out for anything.

                Regard,
