    Other Idx and Sub files

When I rip my blu-ray's i automatically get a .idx and .sub files along with the .avi file. Can these just be deleted or are they needed?

I notice for a English language film there are English subtitles which are from the .sub file i assume. Would any foreign language translation subtitles be in the .sub file too?

    Thanks.

If you don't need or want subtitles just delete them.

Thanks. So both files can be deleted as i don't need English subtitles for English spoken dialogue or be told birds are chirping!.

I assume if there is foreign language spoken in the film these are hard coded onto the film? Thanks.

You really can't make any assumptions about forced subtitles they're done so many different ways.

Why don't you switch from "extract subs" to "Remux" then the subs will be in the file so you can turn them on if needed and off if not and nothing to delete.

The "Remux" option isn't available for .AVI files.

Yet another good reason not to use AVI.
