Other Audio compression?

When shrinking a Blu-ray or DVD to BD-25 or DVD-4.7, respectively, does DVDFab compress the audio (i.e. does it change the bitrate or bit depth)?

If it does, is there a way to prevent it and keep the original audio completely intact?

It does not do anything with the audio, unless you go into advanced setting and select the removal of the HD portion of the audio. No recoding is done in either case.
