Purchase Problem What does 2 years mean?

I want to purchase the DVD-to-BluRay software. What does 2 years price mean? Does the software stop working after 2 years or does it mean just no software updates for new movies?

So, the software literally stops working after 2 years, is that correct? If so, it seems not really worth it after all. Considering that DVD is not as popular and I can't see what any updates would bring for the software anyhow.
