I've been using copy to move movies to my hard drive and they work fine with DVDFAB virtual drive. So thought I would experiment and try the ripper instead. Process took forever. Did I do something wrong? Except for the different format choices, it seems to be the same process as copy.That is, as far as viewing them. What am I missing? Is there a tutorial somewhere that helps me pick the right format for me in ripper? or at least something that explains pro's and con's of each choice? I am talking about the output choices ie. MKV.H265 etc.

If you have some kind of hardware acceleration for x265 I would use that, it's a good compromise between space and quality. If not x264 is the next best choice, that may take a while too unless it has hardware assistance. I would also keep both in the MKV container.Comment
