Other Compressing video files

Hello,

I just ripped my first movie and it's over 7G!!!

I've been told to convert the file to avi b/c... i have no idea how to do this...

Can someone please help me with this?
Can someone provide instructions on how to do this?

Leave In DVD video format

If you are able to get a full movie on ur hard drive, get dvd shrink, and it should shrink the movie to 4, it should shrink it to reg size, dvd shrink is good but you have to play with the compression to size it so it is not in the red, coz if u still shrink it in the red, it wont fit on the disc

What did you rip it with?
DVDFAB set for DVD5 will rip and compress to 4.1 gb or so
