SL Blank Disk Or a DL Blank disk?

Question for the Forum? When you copy a movie;let's say The Bad Lieutenant:Port Of Call New Orleans from the original DVD movie is it best to use a SL Blank Disk Or a DL Blank disk? And Forum what is the difference between the two if any? Is the picture quality the same? Thank You Forum

There are a couple of things to take into account here, the size of the original movie/disk and the amount of compression that will take place.

This amount of compression is shown down near where you select DVD5/DVD9.

Most will tell you that anything below 80% compression is noticable. Whenever you compress, obviously there is quality loss but above 80% this does not seem noticeable.

You can keep the compression at a minimum by using the "Main Movie" mode which cuts out all the extras which are quite a lot on some titles.

Try changing from DVD9/DVD5 and Full Disk/Main Movie and you will see the results in this area.

Just thought I would add this. There is a sticky thread started in the General Chat, with regards to Blank Media deals. You may find some good pricing on some DL's.

if you choose good compression settings and movie only then you could easily fit it on dvd5 sl.
