    Other Imgburn 2510 and Avatar?

Good evening everyone, not sure what I did wrong or am missing but was backing up Avatar, full disk DVD-9, burned with imgburn and will play on LG standalone player but will not on Samsung player, (both upconverts to 1080i). So I tried with VSO engine and it played ok on both. Am I missing a setting in imgburn? Also, not sure if this should go in general question or in third party products? ( mod can move if they need to no worries) I am using paid version of 7040.

Chris do you have a burn log from imgburn you can post?
I had this happen a year or so ago in regards to a samsung player not working but 2 LG players had no problem.

At the moment I can not remember what I did to correct this.. Hoping the burn log will jog my memory.

Not sure if i'm looking in the right spot, but could not find one as I have it set to close once burn is done, through fab. Is there a way to pull old logs from img burn?

Open imgburn and click on Help then scroll down to the logs listing and click on it.

Copy / paste what ever you find.

Yup, the logs hopefully will tell the tale.
Any chance that it didn't bitset with Img?
Did you alter the playback order on any of the titles?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I found the note pad, but this is all it had for today??? There is an older one from Sherlock Homes, but this one worked with the samsung player.

Not sure what you mean by bitset, sorry. No I did not change playback order. Normally burn DVD-5 using imgburn and have had no issues or problems.

Do you have ImgBurn set up as Troy's tutorial? If so go to C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log.and post the DVDFab_burn_imgburn log files.
I don't if this helps but your drive has a firmware update you will find it here

Hi Chris I have copied Avatar with DVD Fab 7.0.4.0 DVD 9 and also use an upconverting Toshiba. I had a similar issue before, when I first bought this unit. I found that on the window that comes up to choose the layer break position, I had to un click seamless. If you go into the IMGBURN settings, you can find the seamless selection and do this permanently.

Just thought I would pass this on, hope it helps.

And an excellent thought it is too!
I was just looking over this thread and the thought struck me...what about the seamless layer break...and there was your post...

Too bad Chris can't find the VSO and Img burn logs on Avatar to compare.

                      @chris

In addition to rip's idea (hopefully that does it), please check and see if your Img burn was bitset, ie.,
booktype changed from +R to DVD-ROM.

+R media (+R, +R DL, +RW) can be a problem for many standalone players and just won't play unless bitset to DVD-ROM

Nero cd-dvd speed, VSO Inspector, Img, etc., will display this info.

Here's a link for VSO Inspector:

@ maineman, think I found what you were looking for, I tried again with imgburn and will play on lg but not samsung. will attach the logs. Also, where do I find the book type in imgburn? I unchecked seamless layer break as rip sugested. BTW, don't waste the time to type CRAPPY media, I know these are not good but only have a couple left and then to the good stuff!

I was just looking over this thread and the thought struck me...what about the seamless layer break...and there was your post...

Too bad Chris can't find the VSO and Img burn logs on Avatar to compare.

                          @chris

                          Maineman,

OK, VSO inspector shows it as DVD +R DL but I changed in imgburn? How do I change via inspector? Or where do I go?

                          Tks.
                          Chris

                            I 20:23:04 Book Type Setting: DVD-ROM

Load the disc in ImgBurn and use the read mode to see what it reports in the disc information window.

I'm guessing chris's LITE-ON DVDRW LH-18A1P successfully bitset the disc to DVD-ROM. Not sure why it won't play though unless it's the media (RITEK-S04-66) and/or the old firmware on it.

Not to get to technical but GL0B is very old firmware. GL0J is the newest

@maineman thank you for the VSO Inspector link. I had version 1.2.7 here
