I am using DVDFAB7 in DVD to DVD mode. I have yet to copy a DVD without some kind of problem. The fab7 reports that the copy is a success but always freezes somewhere during playback. It never has the same flaw twice. By that it freezes in difference places during the movie. Any one else having this problem?

Without more information it is playing 20 questions

Post details of what you are doing and a log.

My guess without any information is that you are either burning too fast or using a poor quality media. Maybe a combination of both.

As my colleague says, the only people that have this problem seems to be the ones using crap blanks and burning too fast.

I am using Sony DVDxR AccuCore 4.7GB. Not sure on write speed as DVDFab7 did the burning.

I see now that the write speed was maxed out at 8x. How do I slow it down?

Even tho Sony D21 media is of poor quality it is a 16X media and your drive will only see a max of 8X.

I have not researched your drive or firmware but it must be old and outdated.

It seems the drive firmware is several versions out of date.
The latest I can find with a quick search is SC00 8th December, 2008.

We need the firmware expert CBR929 to verify the firmware.

Put the sony in the desktop and see what speed it reads the disc at.

If 16x then give it a try. but use 8X or at least not more than 12X.

The last Sony D21 disc I had I threw away about half of them because of poor results... Having said that they are 16X disc and your drive reads them as 8x and only burns at 6X.

I think you need to purchase a different burner [External USB] or use different media.
Updating the drive firmware might help the drive burn the media better but only you can make the decision to update it or not.

Yes that is the latest firmware for your drive BUT if you do not know how to flash your drive DO NOT do it, it will turn your drive into a door stop. If it is a HP computer check there driver download page for instructions.
                            Hope this helps
