    Weird error message

    As there is no sub forum for forum issues I had to post it here. Sorry if it should have been posted elsewhere.

    Why is it not possible to add this text to a posting window?

    I get all kinds of weird error messages about images (that I haven't uploaded) if I try to add it. See attached image.

    I had to add it in code tags to get it accepted. It's just plain text.

    Code:
    I 22:58:47 -> Drive 1 - Info: PIONEER DVD-RW  DVR-115D 1.22 (E:) (ATA)
    I 22:58:47 -> Drive 2 - Info: ATAPI iHAS120   6 7L0M (O:) (SATA)
    I 22:58:47 -> Drive 3 - Info: DVDFab Virtual Drive 1.0 (P:) (SCSI)
    I 22:58:47 -> Drive 4 - Info: ELBY CLONEDRIVE 1.4 (R:) (SCSI)
    I 22:58:47 -> Drive 5 - Info: PHANTOM DVD-RAM DVDR V10 88.0 (Q:) (SCSI)
    I 22:58:47 -> Drive 6 - Info: Slimtype eSAU108   4 2L01 (N:) (USB)

    I'm probably wrong, but I can't find any error here... what appears to have happened is that - in your quoted text for the six drives, in the letter designation for each drive, a full colon appends each drive letter, which brackets the text that's started right after the word 'Info'.

    The forum software is interpreting that is an image, even though it can't locate the corresponding JPG in it's data... and based on the forum set up, 6 images (even though they really aren't images) aren't allowed, so you see an error message when you try to submit that data.

    Yes?? No??

    DC

    P.S. Leave off the final colon after each drive letter, and your text will be accepted, no problem.

      Gummigutta,
      It's very simple - you added too many smiles in your message... which you didn't meant to do
      It sounds funny, but program sees : and ) together as smile, and see how many of them you have. Each drive E, O, P, etc. having smile attached to them - 6 total Smile!
