    Mac OS X 10.6 Compatible????

When will DVD Fab be compatible with Mac OS X!?!?! Hey developers let's get on it! It only means more $$$ for you!

This is the best DVD copying, ripping, burning, converting, etc software I've used, but I stopped using Windows! I would love to have it on my Macs!

    Most probably NEVER !!!!

Pure simple business sense. Windoze 97% of market, Linux 2%, MAC 1%.

Would you bother if a developer?

      Not True!

      You should only post facts.

      As of April 2010:

      Windows 91.46%
      Mac 5.32%
      Linux 1.05%

Who would ever think Linux was above Mac?

Who would ever believe stats from a MAC publication?

Get a grip. Mac sites are not trying to fudge numbers.

          This one shows 9.4%

I'll be generous and accept the 9% but, also being a developer, I know what marketplace I would develop for, the 90% not the 9%.

              Well that's were we differ...

Mac is way easier and faster to code in the Windows. The app and it's updates would cost way less to update, add on, maintenance etc. Also DVDfab does not penetrate 90% of the Windows based computers so that argument is not a solid as you may think. Mac does not have very many apps like DVDfab it would be a niche market on the Mac with little competition. There are over 6 million Mac users (in the US) that 5% is not as measly as it seems. The cost to develop this app would be recopied thousands of times over if only .5% of the users purchased it.

I think your Mac hate'n argument is not sound. We will agree to disagree I'll wait for DVDfab to answer the post.

Sure 5% in the US are Mac users and probably only 1% or less would actually purchase or use DVDFab. 90% of computer owners own a PC for the cheaper price and probably only 25 to 35% would have either tried DVDFab or purchased DVDFab so why would a developer want to spend time developing something that only 1% or less would buy.

If I remember correctly a DVDFab developer did answer this question before over on the old forum a few years back but not quite sure about that. But I am sure if the developer sees a profit in it then they will release a Mac version but I'm sure those % for mac have to be around 20 to 30% for mac users before they do

It has been a while that's why I reposted it. There are a lot more Macs sold since the last time they replied.

Many software companies produce products for Macs only and they seems to be doing well. DVDfab is already ahead of the game they just need to port a product not design it from the ground up. Same concept when developers send a game from Xbox to PS3. Doesn't matter if Xbox has way more of the market then PS3 they still port it, because it's already built on one system and the cost to port it to the other system is minimal compared to how much money they will make by the smaller user base of the PS3.

Same concept with an app already on Windows. All the hard works been done... just port it.

Here in Switzerland we have more then 15% Macs and continuing! And is legal to copy DVD Movies for private use.

On the Mac are good software to copy DVDs, but they need always two steps....ripp and compress. I would be very happy and pay a lot for DVDFab on a Mac.

AutoCAD finds the way also back to the Mac....the most Mac users doesn't use copied software, take a look at the Adobe solds!!!

Also Mac users tend to be more video intensive than PC users, many of whom are simply business users using business software and accounting spreadsheets. Mac was built from the ground up to be graphics oriented, so a larger percentage of Mac users will be buy dvdfab over PC users by a significant margin. Almost all creative film editing by Pixar or Disney is done on Macs. Now Apple has finally overtaken Microsoft in terms of market capitalization. This isn't the end as more and more PC users throw in the towel with buggy windows operating systems. I really think you should port to Mac if you want to maintain your cutting edge.

                        Here here

                        I agree with you Jim!

Send this thread to Mac users let's get as many Macsters as possibly posting on this thread requesting DVDFab! If we have overwhelming support they just might be persuaded to port it to Mac!

Though they'll have to fix their pricing model!

My Mac plays Windows 7 via Boot Camp, and thats where my DVDFab lives.
Easy solution, and it works great, I encode at 129fps on a MacBook Pro!

Wow, dude just kind of went off on a whole Mac tirade there for a minute. He must work for Apple or somethin'. Yeah yeah, it can do video editing, we know. Macs are turning into PCs anyways, adding Intel processors and the like. The only thing different is the OS which has nada for anything OTHER than video editing and like 3 games. Haha sorry Mac guys, I'm just messin' with ya. It was too good to pass up, don't go crazy on me.

Thanks for a sane, civil and totally reasonable statement from a Mac user.
As for the other Macsters, keep at it and maybe one day Fengtao will bite
