    DVD FAb Platinum 4.0.

    Hello:

Yes, I am a newbie. Purchased this version a few years ago and never really got around to using it. So, here I am.

During the reading of numerous threads, I realized a new updated version would be offered to me as a former Platinum owner. So, I emailed support and received a email message:

    The initial message stated:
    Thank you for choosing DVDFab!
    =================================
DVDFab "DVD to DVD" (Never Expire)
DVDFab "DVD to Mobile" (Never Expire)

Then I DL Version 7.0 and was sent a code key.DVDFab6. My g is it will update to version 7.0.?

My question is since its (Version 4.0) an old version now and it works, what advantage or disadvantages to upgrade?

I understand, I can keep it. But, what are the major reasons for going to 6/7.0 ?

Keep in mind the DVD FAB Platinum 4 and DVD HD Decrypter works great.Used it for the first time yesterday without a hitch. Of course, I cheated and read the forums first. LOL

When I see many posts with version 7.0 issues, I wonder if I should stay put for awhile.

    Feed back is welcome.

    The newbie from PA

    Go Ravens!

Some new movies have structural protections based on multiple title sets that the older versions probably won't handle. You are always better off staying up to date.

I'm not sure about the Ravens, I think it's overstatement (an optimistic one)!!!
However, real advantage is to have them all (I mean DVDFab versions).
Since you have the key, I would suggest to download v.6 and install, and register as well.

DVDFab evolved from one version to another in a process of keeping up with the technology, both hardware and software. Newer versions responding to newer protection tricks, support new generations of copy protection, new media, new file formats and containers, new codecs, etc.
You are right, if you are processing your father's antique DVD collection, v.4 would be an adequate solution, with limited output option though. But if you try to run any of the modern protected discs, it wouldn't work...
      And so on...
And now is time to ask a question, isn't great to have lifetime subscription???!!!
