DVD or BD to Hard Drive for HTPC

Hi all. This is my first visit here. I'm having trouble playing dvds and Blu-ray movies once they are copied to my hard drive. What i am trying to do is copy the dvds and BDs to my computer and use Windows 7 Media Centre to create a library of my movies. Can anyone help please?

    Hi Mieeky and welcome
To play these files you will need to VLC which you will find here http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ or as suggested by my friend IPopov50 which I am also going to install now Media Player Classic Home Cinema which you will find here http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/downlo...lassic-hc.html
    Hope this helps

I have no problem playing the DVDs I have ripped with DVDFab using W7 Media Center just make sure you have set up media center to see the actual movies you have saved to HDD as that is what I think your problem is. I'm not sure about Blu-ray as I am just starting to get into that and have not done any back ups for them at the moment

In addition to good advise from friend of mine CBR929, since you are in BD territory and Windows 7 OS (I suppose 64 bit), Media Player Classic Home Cinema 64 bit edition is a MUST HAVE. Pls let us know if any questions.
