    New to DVD Fab

I recently downloaded the free month trial of DVD Fab. I made backup copies of most of my movie collection (the ones I could, since some of them were really scratched and unserviceable). I was also impressed that some of my movies, which I'm unable to view due to heavy scratching were able to be copied and stored into my hard drive and Ipod. I love this program.

Before I buy a lifetime subscription I'd like to ask a really dumb question. Is it legal to do this? I understand that everyone has the right to have a backup copy of a DVD but I feel like it's too good to be true. Where can I find the law that says that this type of programs are legal? I just want to enjoy this program and be able to sleep with a clear mind. Thanks and once again, I love this program.

Forgot to mention that I live in the USA.

This is an International forum and copyright laws vary from country to country. The user of the software bears sole responsibility for its use in compliance with local laws.

This was taken from the link below

Observance of Copyright Laws in the DVDFab Forums

Also here is a link about copyright laws http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright and another http://www.edubook.com/dvd-copyright-laws/8491/

Not sure what is exactly the law for the states or even here in Canada but I think if it for your own personal use and to save the originals from being damaged it should be fine
