Thanks for the info on my other thread.. Now two questions that may sound dumb to other people.

1. Explain the difference between DVD-R and DVD+R and why there is a difference.

2. At least here all DVD DL's are DVD+R. Any reason they are such and recommends for the best disc to use in this format...

DVD Formats Explained

The only DL blank media consistently recommended is
Verbatim DL +R, preferably MIS (made in Singapore) as opposed to
MII (made in India)

Don't even try to use DL -R for video archiving...a waste of time and money. You'll never be able to position the layer break properly
