I have a "Fab Installer" folder on my desktop that I shove them in after the install is done.

Not sure if this will help or not, just trying to help, maybe you do this already.

What I do is when each version, beta or official, is released I download it to my desktop, then instal it and it automatically instals over my DVD Fab, but I then keep the last few installers on my desktop just in case of problems.

Every so often I delete the older installers from my desktop but keep DVD Fab installed, in my case 6 and 7.

You just install over the top and it retains your setting & registration info.

You cannot have multiple versions of the same major release installed but you may have multiple installations of different major versions.

eg. You can have any release of Version 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 all installed but you cannot have multiple versions of 7 installed.

This is why I said to keep the installers so that you can revert at any time.

Your question is perfectly sensible, however it is one thing I have never been too sure about, so will leave it to one of the experts to answer fully.

Totally agree with Davis procedure, It is exactly what I use.

I will make another point though.

Keep all the old installers. Space is cheap and you never know when you will want to revert for some reason or other.

I have an install libraqry since V3 and, on may ocassions, I have been very glad that I did this right from the start.

same thing I do as well. I even have the check for updates off so I not get the annoying message

hi thanks for all your help. Yes I thought it was automatically updating dvdfab for me so as soon as it comes on my screen I click it to update. The version I have is 7.0.93 is this the newest one available, if not how do I do a update. This may sound silly to some people but as I said I'm fairly new to this. Once again thank you for your help and time

Not dumb at all from my perspective.
I think he's under the impression that Fab auto updates rather than simply a notification that an update is available.

There is no change since they are just notifications. They do not download or install anything.

    hi ipopov50

They are not annoying me, but I just wondered what they do, because there doesn't seem any change afterwards. And should I let it update as I'm doing. Thank you for your quick reply.

    tdk,
If these notifications annoying for you, you can disable "check for updates" in "General" section of Common Settings.
