Hi from Greece
Although i am using dvdfab 3 years now, i just signed up as member because i really really need your help.
I haver read stieg larsons books and i loved them!
i saw in my local dvd store that all 3 are on dvd, in swedish (which i think will be great) and i went to rent them.
I took the first 2, the other was not available
But i cant seem to be able to rip the second one.... The girl who played with fire.
DvdFab always stop in about 53%
I tried to copy it without saving to hard disk, using (read the General Policies) and it also stopped with error "File 1 D:/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_4.VOB 23 TCSectorReader"
I took from the dvd store two different copies and ..... same thing happened.
I tried removing Path Player...nothing.
Any ideas????

Tips on Troubleshooting Analyzing/Ripping dvds

You can also try an older version of Fab if you have one available to you
(I keep meaning to add this to the list).

I'm less suspicious of a bad press as this is your 2nd disc, but still, it wouldn't be the first time this happened.

If all this fails, you might consider sending the .IFO files along to Fengtao.

BTW, I have "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"...great flick, loved it.
I'll have to pick up the other two

I tried changing some of the preferences in 8.0.1.5... it passed the "problematic" 53.28%" and its now on 53.38% going veeeeeery slow.
Time elapsed 31 minutes!!!

i have tried DVDfab HD decrypter 4 that i kept.... didnt help....

btw..... who is Fengtao?

Fengtao = DVDFab Architect


He will be able to determine if the issue is some form of copy protection such as a bad sector

If everything I suggested fails, you might try dvd decrypter or shrink...you just never know

dvd shrink didnt work either....
its in 53.44% in 48 minutes!
i dont remember what i changed in preferences....
will find out.... in few hours

i think i did something with the retries and the errors.... and thats why is going so slow

Why are you copying rented movies as this is illegal you need to read the forum rule's.

its illegal to copy rented movies and use them for personal profit.
i use them for home entertainment only....if its any of your business!!
since i am paying 2.3 euro the movie why watch it only one time and MUST return it in ONE day? Its even at the stores knownledge that i copy them... thats why they gave me another copy of the movie without charging me.

Anyway.... the dvdfab closed by itself.... i will try again changing the settings one more time..
