Your duplicate post and hijacks that you spread all over the forum were deleted.
Do not post the same whine/complaint in more than one post/thread.

Your attitude and accusations will not get you much in the way of help.

      Cool thanks

      I understand that

But put you in my place, I pay for a software that doesn't work and it try to still my Outlook Contact and install Trojan, not very cool.

I'm old guy, and I'm not use to be hacked, maybe it's normal for you young people, but me I didn't understand why.

I love your software (the 30 days version), work great and that's why I bought the new version when the 30 days was over.

But now I'm stuck and no one try to help or try to understand what happen here. And my first post was deleted, yeah I was angry, but you know why.

If it was my software and one of my customer told me, my software install some Trojan and try to still informations. I don't know, I try to do something to help.

Anyway, sorry about my angry post, but it is possible to have some solution here or a refund.

      Thanks

        Who are you calling young.?
I think I am the oldest person on the forum.

In order to get help you need to calm down and post all the detailed information you can.
Including any logs you might have.

The software works for thousands of people and the fact it did work for you and now does not might point to a simple adjustment in setting.
The fact that you are the only one reporting trojans narrows the problem down to something on your PC.

We will never know unless you help with details.

          OK

          Hi old timer ;O)

It's simple, I had install v7.0.9.3 for 30 days, I use only DVD2Mobile, (I have 500+ dvd to copy on my new WD media player), I did some copy to test and with the 30 days version every copy works pretty well.

Yesterday I decide to buy the last version v8.0.2.2, I receive the Key via email and the link to download the software. I un-install the old version and did the steps in the email

          1. Download the software from the DVDFab's website ().
          2. After you downloaded the software, install it on your computer.
          3. Open the installed trial version of the DVDFab.
          4. Save the attachment file, "Key(DVDRipper).DVDFab6", on your
computer. This is your license key.
          5. Double click on the license key file.
          6. A message confirming the registration will appear on the screen
and it will ask you to restart the program.
          7. Restart the program.
          8. After the program is restarted you will have the full registered
          version of the DVDFab
Everything when well and I begin to copy a dvd, when the soft begin the copy it crash and ask me to do a Bug report, I said yes, but when I click the SEND button I have a popup that ask me permission for the software to access my Outlook Contacts, and I panic and click cancel. I have everyday at noon my virus software that make a scan, I did a second scan after the incident and I have 5 Trojan on my computer, I clean all of it and uninstall the DVDFab right away. I was mad at this point, sorry

This morning I try again, I did the virus scan just before the installation and it didn't found any Trojan . I re-install everything but this time I didn't need to activate the key, BUT the software crash at the same place and the same popup warning from Outlook pop again, and I click cancel again. I did a scan right after that and I had 3 Trojan on my machine.

I try different DVD always crash at the same place.

After that I try again but I put the report.exe and dvdfab.exe in my firewall setting to stop any communication from the Web. I redo all again, but this time no trojan but still the same crash when the soft begin to copy.

And there no Trojan in the initial DVDFab8022.exe it get the Trojan's from the web when it does the bug report.

I think this is all, I can do more test if you want, just tell me where to look or to do.

          Thanks

          Bill

By the way if you do a search in Google with dvdfab trojan there 414,000 results

There reports in every version, I'm pretty sure they are pirated version, but mine it's not, I can PM or email you my invoice.

And I never install pirated software on my workstation, just because I know it the best way to get Trojan and virus.

I can tell you for a 100% fact that if you got a trojan, it wasn't from DVDFab. I don't know why Outlook Express is coming up when you try to send the error report, but I can say if DVDFab infected peoples computers with viruses, I don't think they would be doing so well, but they are.

Seriously, I don't believe it for a second any more than I buy into 414,000 for Fab.

BTW, this is good news, since we're almost 3 times as popular...
                just kidding

In the past, we've had many false reports, particularly from mcafee and lately from kaspersky

The only posts removed were done so because you double/triple posted...a clear violation of forrm rules, and general forum etiquette and manners.

Oh, and I'm an "old guy" too and frankly, someone of your age and supposed maturity should know better than to start a thread the way you did

Install this latest Beta version and give another try. You should not be getting any virus from DVDFab and when you send report nothing should be accessing your outlook as the report does not need email client access

                    Hi

Yep your right, It was frustration, and I was angry because it was the first time in 19 years I get some virus or trojan on my computer.

Again sorry about that, you can change the title of this tread if you want, I will investigate the Trojan's this weekend. I have some old trick to found where they came from. Pretty sure I can log all the process. And if I'm wrong I will apologize and say I'm a old geek without sex ;O)

Anyway I download the beta version and it does the same error at the same place with different dvd

I look in your bug report and found this

                    1m 02.75s: create config(0)
                    1m 02.75s: convert profile(mp4.default)
                    1m 02.96s: dvd title(1) angle(0) chapter(1->36)
                    1m 02.97s: stream(480,2,1) stream(128,86019,1)
1m 04.81s: h264 encode: using official CUDA encoder
                    1m 04.85s: error: h264 encode macroblocks per second(33716) exceed the standard(11880), video size(720x400, 29.97), specify profile(0)-level(13)
                    1m 17.70s: terminate process
I have a bomb here, I'm a old geek, and my computer is a Dell XPS 730x H2C (liquid cooling) with a Quad Intel Core i7 965x (8 treads, Win7 see a 8 cores CPU), 2 HD WD Velociraptor in Raid 1 and also 2 nVidia GTX 280 with 4 monitors. (a 74 pounds, 5000$ tower).

With the 30 days version (v7.0.9.3) It took 7-12 mins to copy a dvd

I just send the bug report to Sunny Fan via email

No problem and I appreciate your calm and very reasonable reply.
                      Thanks for that.

Quite a beast you've got there for a rig...
What are you using for av and other security software?

I still can't quite connect the dots on MS Outlook, but I haven't used it in years.
Hope you get this sorted and keep us in the loop.
                      Thanks again.

                        Hi maineman

I was using McAfee, but I remove it today, because I didn't like DVDfab access the internet without any firewall warning.

I just buy Trend Micro and I did another test with it, and it's the same DVDfab access the web without any warning and try to access the outlook contact list and I get the Trojan again. I did before a scan with Mcafee and Trend Micro before I did the test and I had a clean machine

                        What I did,

I start DVDfab try to copy a dvd (this case Avatar), I get the same error (in my post before), the DVD Report popup open, I fill the form, and click send, right after that another popup from Outlook (the scary one) pop in, and after that the warning from Trend Micro I just got virus.

                        See the screenshot

like I said before the original exe is clean I get the Trojan from the web, maybe it because of Avatar. I will do more test. I'm so curious now to found how or why.

                        I let you know

                          Well,

I'm not sure yet, but I think all this is because I try to copy the DVD of Avatar, I try another old DVD and nothing, I still get the error, but no Outlook popup or Trojan????????????

I think it's 2 separate issue here, first, yeah the DVDFab doesn't work on my machine (with the error, I think my PC it's to fast), but the Outlook popup and Trojan warning it only when I try to copy Avatar.....

How they can do that!?!?!?... very weird, I will found the answer tomorrow.

My old job was Security engineer (10 years), now I'm a developer, I do games.

                          Anyway I let you know

                            Hi lebill
Sorry to hear that you are having troubles

All I can say is that I have been using Fab for about 1-1/2 years, and have backed up over 500 movies and could not be happier
                            I
have not had many problems with this software at all, but post to try and help others with their problems.

If you are not happy with v8xxx you can install v7.0.9.3 from here and see if this changes any thing, as I think that your key should work for v7.0.9.3 also.
The only downside of using older versions is that they are no longer supported, and newer encryptions require newer versions.

The only reason I believe that Fab needs to access the web is for blu-ray support, for the keys but I'm not 100% sure.
Also what is the error you are getting??? Is it the pop screen you posted??? Did you also install the installer as administrator???
                            Hope all this helps

                              Hi CBR929

I'm close to found the problem here, I'm not sure i'm gonna sleep tonight ;O)

First I get this error ( for all the dvd I try )
                              error: h264 encode macroblocks per second(33716) exceed the standard(11880), video size(720x400, 29.97), specify profile(0)-level(13)
This is why I post the detail of my PC, because in the new version they use the new CUDA GD encoder (hope they not cap the speed to use CUDA), in v7.0.9.3 they use something else and I had no problem at all (I copy DVD in less then 12 mins) and like you said it's the best software to copy DVD.

Hehehe, by the way I already try to re-install the v7.0.9.3 with my key and it doesn't work, each time I get a popup to upgrade. Sad....

For the rest, now I'm pretty sure it's Avatar, I just analyze the DVD, and there's weird stuff in it, I'm not a DVD wiz, but there's more then the movie on the dvd (by the way it's the real Blu-ray version, the first one with the 2 disc in it, the BD and the DVD (region 1), and I try to copy the DVD)

Anyway again, I'm maybe in the garden looking for something that doesn't exist.

But I always write what I'm thinking (sorry again about the first frustration post) It's only me.

                              Bill
