Sorry if this shifts the topic a tad off topic. But I saw the suggestion of Verbatim, was wondering if Taiyo Yuden discs compare favorably or are Verbatims #1.

Also is +R the way to go? Are there any implications for using -R from Verbatim?

For your question about +R and -R it depends on what you want. I booktype to DVD-rom so I get DVD+R 8X TAIYO YUDEN media with Media Code Mfr: YUDEN000T02 which is the Best around I think.
