    RecordFab

Anyone see this new product? Does it give anyone the idea in what direction things are going?
Record videos and audio from massive streaming platforms in up to 1080p resolution.

I don't see any new direction because of this.

But the multitude of new products (see also BookFab) arouses some apprehension in me ..
.. but I have no idea whether SF dev is somehow involved.

I saw it last week and I am annoyed because i feel this should totally be part of StreamFab. But in order to bypass the NPG, it needs to be a standalone product

That's an interesting way to look at it being a separate release. Bypass the NPG.
Trying to test it, and so far it's SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW as heck only max 2x speed record option.

I was trying plex.tv, and also found that streamfab 'claims' to fully support watch.plex.tv. I tried two movies, one worked, and the other went into endless analyzing.

Since the movie was close to 2 hours, I aborted it in RecordFab, but the file did play what was recorded.

I aborted the test. I will do a full test and try to report back in a couple of hours, as I said it's painfully slow even at 2x speed. If it goes by REAL math, it would cut a 2-hour movie to 1 hour to record, though.

              Ok, my full report.

Yes, it removes ads. It was a 1 hour 41 min movie, and that's what you get once finished.
I see no signs of ads as well in the final movie when playing.
I used 2x record speed, which may have affected one of my dislikes below.

There are only 2 record resolutions, 720p and 1080p. It defaults to 1080p.
The file size looks a bit out of range at 13GIG, which seems the file size issue was already reported in the new forum for recordfab > RecordFab - DVDFab Forum.
NOTE, this post may end up getting moved to that forum, knowing how this whole forum works lately.

The drawback is audio is a bit out of sync and is noticeable when they talk.
This may be because of 2x speed, it's unknown till someone can try at 1x speed.
There are only a few options, the 2 resolutions and 5 speeds, starting from 1x and ending with 2x.
There are NO Subtitles options, and it did not get them, even though the movie I tested from Plex has Subtitles.
I tested Plex because even though streamfab confirmed they support watch.plex.tv it only works on some movies, other movies once sent to download cue just get stuck at analyzing.
              Code:
              (Reference https://www.dvdfab.cn/streamfab-download-status.htm, under MPD, watch.plex.tv Running 1080p720p H264 AAC)
If I am up to it tonight before going to bed, I may try 1x speed and 720p to then see in the morning if the same audio sync issue is present and see what the file size ends up being.
              Some screenshots of settings ...

I am not thrilled with what MediaInfo reports and will show you a screenshot of that.
But it does play fine, other than audio sync issues using VLC media player.
It only saves as mp4, and there is no option of using different file formats.

ADDED: The subtitles are my issue, as it's hard, at times, to see the option on the Plex website in recordfab browser. After looking harder, subtitles where off.

I showed all the options, it decides what audio it records. If the website itself has an option for different audio, it MIGHT be viewable in recordfab to set it from the website, as I now found out for Subtitle, on the Plex site, the option is there but at times very hard to see in the recordfab browser.

Although I now found out, even though I now have the subtitles on at Plex RF still don't record them.

I wonder if the movie will look just a little bit jerky when there is a scene with panning, beause recording a scene with a sweeping camera could be difficult to get a smooth picture

Remember "Recode" and "Clevergate" during our six-month company holiday?

Seriously, guys, what are you doing with this garbage?
NEVER use the update function within Streamfab. Always download the offline file!

I was actually glad I have access to cleverget when SF stopped working on Amazon. I mostly get shows, and they come in satisfactory quality, you get multiple choices of video and audio and even subtitles. The shows are hard to get using other sources. The movies are easier via other sources like Torrents and newsgroups.

My final report on RecordFab from here on, referred to as RF.

RF BAD audio out-of-sync issues using both 1x and 2x recording speed.
RF has no selection of subtitles or audio, only 1080p or 720p video.
No subtitles, even when subtitles are shown while recording from plex.tv. Plex for some reason has two ways to access, either app.plex.tv which is supported by RF, or watch.plex.tv which is NOT supported by RF.
File size is the same for both 720p and 1080p which is a bit confusing, the 1 hour, 37 min movie was 13Gig using either 1080p or 720p.
It was saved as a mp4, you have no choice in this matter, but really is one of these formats (ts m2t m2s m4t m4s tmf ts tp trp ty), info thanks to MediaInfo program.
I used VLC Media Player as that plays any possible format, if that don't play a video file it usually means the video file is corrupted.
The audio out of sync issue is what made my mind up to add RF to my uninstallation list.
Along with not getting subtitles and limited choices in settings.

Others can test RF or not, I just figured I would see if it was a possible solution for Plex, and it is not.
RF claims to support numerous sites, which I don't doubt, but I feel all sites will have the same issue, as with Plex, the movies play fine with subtitles and no out of sync audio played directly from the Plex website, but not when recorded with RF.
As simple as the movies seem on Plex no known software seems to fully support downloading all movies, SF hangs on some, in the downloading cue at analyzing.
And the other so-called recorder programs don't even recognize a video is playing, if tried on plex.tv.

As for cleverget like I said I am happy with it when SF breaks, it worked better and faster than SF with their so called cleverget/encode/record mode.
Sadly cleverget has no plans to support Peacock, so thanks again to certain people helping, I was able to come across a program that records and supports Peacock, and we know already Peacock is having issues in SF.

Everyone is welcome to their own option and idea of other programs, we all know what most people think of SF.
I feel it's good to have alternatives, as even cleverget has its bad days, but is updated pretty frequently.
I have access to two other record type programs, with them, they are limited to what sites they do, but you keep hope that out of them all, one will work if you really need the shows and don't want to have to wait till another gets fixed.

So goodbye to RF, maybe I will check back with it in 6 months to a year? Maybe not.
Things can't be fully accomplished without proper access.

No no no no no no no no no. I guess many are going to be interested, but screen records are just awful by their very nature. Jerky at some level, out of sync at some level. Never perfect.
