Are .M2TS filenames always restricted to being numbers?

I am just curious whether or not all the files in the \BDMV\STREAM folder are restricted to names that are only numbers. When viewing the Blu-Ray disc in a stand-alone Blu-Ray player this isn't really a limitation. But when I load up a Blu-Ray disc on my PC and I browse the folders to pick a specific title it might be easier if I could name the filename of each .M2TS after the episode that it contains, for example, in a television series.

Is it possible to do this or is it against the Blu-Ray standard?
