I am sure it is OE but my "Copy to DVD disk" button is greyed out. I am forced to go back to a previous version (8) to burn backup DVDs.

Did you mean that you could not select the driver to burn the DVD in Fab9?
WilsonPlease post your logs the default location is:
For DVDFab 13: C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\DVDFab13\Log
For StreamFab: C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\StreamFab\log
Please use attachment button and attach your most recent, Internal log and post right here.
If it's the burning issue, please also attach burn log.

Yes in the selection button where you choose full copy, main movie etc. there is a button for DVD disk copy. This button is grayed out. I have installed DVDFab on two different systems and they both have the DVD disk copy selection button grayed out.

That button is for copying blu ray disks to dvd your burn log shows you don't have a blu ray disk burner so it can't read blu rays and that's the reason it's grayed out.Just select main movie or full disk in version 9 to copy from a dvd theirs no separate button for dvd's or blu ray's Fab will know what kind of disk is in the drive and set the program to copy and burn.
Your dvds firmwear is old try using the auto updater here:
