    Created blu ray stutters on playback

    I want to try the Blu ray Creator before buying and I'm running into an issue with creating the blu ray image. The trial software gives me three tries with creating the blu ray.
    1. The first blu ray I created, I didn't have AVCHD Compatibility Settings set to create without certificate folder, and the burned disk was not usable in my Xbox One. It only showed a black screen.
    2. The second blu ray resolved this issue, but the video frame rate is very poor on both the Xbox One reading the burned disk and with VLC reading the iso on my PC.
    • I'm using Verbatim BD-R 25GB blu ray disks
    • Instead of using dvdfab to burn directly to the disk, I burned it to an iso file and then used ImgBurn to burn. I don't expect this to be a problem with my blu ray drive or ImgBurn since the video stutters while using VLC to play the iso directly.

    So now I'm left with my third attempt to see if this software will work for my needs and I'd like some help.

    I have attached the media info for both the source file and the output/destination file. The destination mediainfo states that the frame rate is 23.976 fps, but it really feels like 12fps. The VLC statistics tab doesn't show any dropped frames though if I go frame by frame, it appears that several frames are being duplicated.

    Any ideas on something I could adjust to get a better video?

    I have also attached the DVDFab13 log.

    Does the original MKV file play correctly in your computer?
    I am not particularly familiar with sizes expressed as GiB, but It looks like you are converting a 83.8 GiB source file down to 20.8 GiB. That is recompressing the video file down to less than 1/4 its original size? I would expect significant degradation in the video quality as a result?

      Yeah, the original file plays flawlessly.

      I would expect the bitrate to be lower, yeah, but not this weird frame rate issue.

        Looking at the data you provided, the frame rate appears to be the same. But the bitrate has been forced down to approx. 25% of the original. I expect that is because you are going from a very large 4K video format to 1080p? Did you use the "UHD to Blu-ray" option in DVDFab? That's what I use when making a blu-ray backup of one of my 4K/UHD movie discs & it has consistently worked fine. But I have never had occasion to try it with a mkv source video & I don't believe I have ever had a source 4K/UHD disc with a movie file anywhere near the size of your source file.

          I just tried the UHD Creator option and it has the same problem. I somehow missed that option when I was looking to make a blu ray, so that gives me more attempts before the trial expires.

          I can handbrake this file to some other format or size if you think that would be better? I just don't know what to convert to.

            try slowing your burn speed to 4x and see if that helps.

              But the framerate is stuttering even before I burn it to disc? I can see it when I play the iso file with VLC.

                click the 3 hamburger lines in the upper right hand corner of the dvdfab interface - click settings - AVCodec - check "disable all gpu codecs for decoding & encoding
                restart dvdfab and retry blu-ray creator again nd see if you still get the stuttering issue.
