HD Audio removed - discs freeze on playback

I started using the Remove HD Audio feature in order to fit a BD movie into a 25 GB disc.

PROBLEM is the backed up copies freeze on and off while the first couple of scenes play (about 10 to 15 minutes worth) then work fine for the rest of the film without any problems.

Has anyone encountered this problem or could it just be my old Sony BDP-S350 acting up?

P.S. What is the general life expectancy of a BD player - one that gets used for a couple of hours every day, that is?

About your question the life of BD player, it is difficult to answer since the development of this technology is very rapid. Usually a BD player can be used 5~6 years.
Some BD player which have double drive head(BD + DVD) could be more durability.

I had a Sony BDP-s370 still sealed in the package it came in just in case my Sony BDP-s350 would go bonkers on me - which it had never done until now.

I connected the s370 player and the DVDFab recorded movies played without a hitch. I don't understand why, but they did just fine in the newer model.

I did, however, encounter a new problem I had not come across before with a disc that I backed up today. The s-350 model did not recognize the DVDFab recorded disc (with version 8.0.5.0) but the s-370's reaction threw me for a loop. It froze immediately and would not allow me to turn the player off! I literally had to disconnect it for it to eject the DVDFab created disc.

that could be because you burned the blank too fast as you should not burn at the max rated speed for the blank media being used. Instead of using 8x speed use 4x speed

You as well are using an old version of DVDFab update to latest release and the VSO burn engine that comes bundled with DVDFab does not work correctly for burning Blu-ray media.

Install ImgBurn and use that for the burn engine with DVDFab. Here is link for how to set them up to work together watch youtube video and do not forget to set the AWS (automatic write speed) for ImgBurn
