There are 3 episodes on disc one so i tried to do a full disc compression to BD25. I ripped disc one to my HD first. It is 29.7 GB. I then tried compression to BD25 and the file size came out at 25.2 GB. I then took this .iso, and ran it through DvdFab again, and it only dropped to 25.0 GB. I've typically only done movie only, but in this case the three episodes require a full disc compression. So far i can't get the file size small enough to burn to BD25.
Any suggestions?

The logs are simple text files that can be opened with Windows Notepad. If the size exceeds the forum’s attachment size limit, you may need to delete older entries or copy and paste the relevant ones into a new file.

dvdfab_internal.log Attach for all problems. Time stamped, most recent at the bottom. Please edit to include only the most recent or relevant log session.

dvdfab_burn_vso.log Attach for all problems. The entries are time stamped with the most recent at the top.

dvdfab_burn_imgburn.log Attach if you have ImgBurn set as the burning engine and the problem concerns disc burning. Time stamped with the most recent at the bottom.

dvdfab_process.log Attach if DVDFab crashes and the crash report window does not come up or complete correctly or if internal error codes appear in the DVDFab window (“Task Failed…”). Time stamped, most recent at the bottom.

Other Information:

Depending on the nature of the problem, it can help to know:
If this happens with all discs or just one
Your operating system/CPU/memory configuration
If you are using external hard drives or optical drives
If you have made any recent changes to your OS or system hardware
If you have other DVD or BD software installed, particularly if recently added.

There are no error codes or indicated problems. It is set for a target of 23.7 GB and takes 4.5 hours to re-encode, but never achieves the required size. It only happened the one time i've tried a full disc compression. All the other times i've used movie only, and the file size is always correct.

What is the original size of this particular disc? Have you ticked the option of "Remove HD Audio", which will save you much space?

If your compressed files is larger than BD25 size, that means you need to burn the compressed files to a BD50 disc to avoid some burning error or incomplete.

If you really do not want to burn this movie to BD50 disc, here is one way you may try: Open Common Seetings>DVD/Blu-ray>Write>Writable Media (BD25) Size>Customize>set the output size to 25100 to see the result.

But, I have to emphasize here:This is highly not recommended, as many Blu-ray blank discs have uneven dye around the outer edge and poor quality disc will not burn right up to the edge, so we don't want to burn that far. We are improving our compress technique, please understand the compress technique development will take some time.

The original size is 29.7 GB. I want the HD audio. The problem lies with compressing full disc as opposed to movie only. Movie only compression always works ok. This is the first time i've tried full disc, and the compressed size is always too big to fit on a BD25. I'll post the log tomorrow when i get to the computer in question. I'm also going to try and change the file output size target to 21GB, and see how that goes.

The problem is that you want to keep the HD Audio for all 3 episodes which could be a size of 3-5 gb per episode so that anywhere from 9 to 15gb of just HD Audio alone as it does not get compressed like the Video does.

Even if you can get it to fit a 25gb blank keeping the HD Audio the Video Quality will not be that good with that much compression. The DVD Version probably have better PQ than your compressed 25gb copy

I tried to lower the target output to 21.5 GB, and it hung up on 00106 m2ts. twice. 106 seems to be the culprit. I'm out of ideas.

I tried version 6, and version 7 full disc, default settings. Both failed with error code 401, which is unachievable compression. I'm now trying 8.0.6.1 with output set to 22GB. the last 2 tries with the output set to 21.7GB resulted in a stall at 58.62% both times at 00106 m2ts. I get the feeling that the full disc compression needs some work yet.

I lowered the output to 22GB from the default 23.7, and the final size was 26 GB, which is bigger than the original. It appears 00106 m2ts file just copies and doesn't re-encode for some reason. I give up. The full disc copy needs some work.

I should say the final size of 26 GB was when i set the output to 22GB when the final size was 25.2 GB when i had the output set to 23.7 GB. The result in either case was not small enough to burn to a 25GB disc.
