movie clip random mixed in main movie

I notice some of the blu-ray I backup have movie frames that randomly appear in the movie. There is no error pop up during the process. Have been trying using latest 8.0.6.1 to do full disc, DVD25, DVD5 still the same. DVDFab setting is default."

Let's say one of the movie i had. The 3.15s frame will suddenly appear in 19.18s for couple seconds and then it will continue from 19.19s again. This happen in the preview screen and in the backup. If watching the BD with PowerDVD 8 and home BD player, everything fine. I have only one BD rom (Lite-on) installed on this pc.

If backup to .m2ts format seem fine.

The disc I m trying to backup is "How to Train Your Dragon", "Eclipse" and "growth up" and others.

I attached one of the log below.

Latest version is DVDFab 8.0.6.5 released December 27, 2010. Not sure what you mean by the frame or what plays incorrectly so could you explain that a little better. What is it that does not play correctly the folder from hdd on computer or the Blu-ray copy you made? Is it the Blu-ray player hooked up to TV that this happens on or is it the computer.

Explain a little better and if you can attach a couple screen captures of the problem as that would be helpful to the developer and others who want to help

I had something similar on Zombieland that I compressed to BD 25GB. One of the title sequences (a name and what they did) from the beginning of the film appeared about half way through just as they arrived at the gift shop they trash. I had a WTF moment because it was seemless and looked like it was suppose to be there. When I went back and played the scene again it did not happen and appears to have been random. I was playing a ISO on DVDFab VD with PowerDVD10.

        Thanks for replying.

I have try with the latest version it seem the same. Like I said, there is no error or whatsoever pop up saying the content has error.

The error is just like what Darmabummed69 trying to explain.

In the "How to train your dragon", there is one part where the kid came home through the front door and saw his father was waiting for him. This particular scene will shown again later in other part of the scene where the Night Fury dragon stared at the kid when he dropped his pencil. And suddently the above earlier seen appeared for 2~3 seconds and continue back to normal.

I have try to play the original BD disk from the PC using DVDfab's preview windows and I can seen the problem. Playing via PowerDVD and home Blu-Ray player does not have this issue.

If I backup the disk and play the .iso file from DVDfab preview window again, I can see the error again. To correct this issue, I have to backup to .m2ts format but that will lose the subtitle.

This problem happens to Growth up too.

Have you tried to rip the problem blu-ray to computer instead of burning to media. Then play that folder with PowerDVD to see if same thing happened. Sorry I not have Blu-ray burner only Blu-ray reader and do not have this problem when I playback from folder on computer

            Hi,

I rip it into .iso and play it using DVDfab preview, same problem. My PowerDVD software won't read .iso and VLC don't either. (maybe I do not know how to play it with PowerDVD). I too do not have a BD burner.

I think this is something random? My other collection of BD rips are perfect.

Any ideal or what I can try? It kind of annoying not able to backup or spent long hours to figure it out before the BD disk passing many hands and got scratch.

To play the iso using VLC or PowerDVD you need to have a Virtual Drive and mount the iso to virtual drive to play it like an actual Blu-ray/DVD disc is in the drive. Here link to the Free DVDFab Virtual Drive

                  Thanks!

I should have known it. Will try later and see if the result will be the same.

                    Hi AGJ,

I just tried mounting the 1 to 1 .iso image as well as the ripped .iso using DVDfab virtual drive and play it with PowerDVD, it seem the problem goes away. Sound like the DVDFab preview player has coding bugs?

p/s: VLC still unable to play the .iso even I have mount it with virtual drive.

                    Thanks for the tips.

Please forgive me if this seems to be off-topic but why burn or save the file in ISO format when you can merely copy it to the disc with the folder structure intact and burn from that in DVDFab? I've seen many in this forum use the aforementioned ISO format in connection with imgburn and I'm wondering why?

                        Hi,

I do not plan to burn it to the disk and also do not owned any burner.
I ripped it to .iso so I can save it on my pc and watch later when I have time.

Technically I think the 1:1 image in .iso also retain the folder and content structure if you decided to burn it.

Most media players that hook up to TV can play iso format and if you later want to burn to blank media to play on DVD/Blu-ray player you can.

You correct the iso format is just container that preserves the DVD/Blu-ray content structure
