Computer unable to read disc

i am tyring to back up Spiderman, the first one, and my computer doesn't see the disc. i have come across this about 3 times before, twice i managed to get them to work. with spiderman nothing seems to work. the disc is in excelent shape and it plays on my player. has anyone else had them happen to them, and if so, did you find a work around?

Hi Twenty Valve,

1.Please install DVDFab 8.0.6.8 at .

2.Please open DVDFab program first, then insert your original Blu-ray discs to your Blu-ray drive, then to see if the DVDFab can connect your Blu-ray drive to recognize the original Blu-ray discs or not.

If your DVDFab can't recognize original movies from Blu-ray drive very well on your computer, please start the movie in your PC Blu-ray Player (like PowerDVD v10) for a few seconds and then start the DVDFab analysis. Once the analysis starts, you can turn off the PC Blu-ray player.

3.Please try both Full Disc option and Main Movie option to see the result.

the issue really isn't a DVDFab issue. my computer won't see the disc at all. i have tried opening Fab first, that didn't work. trully installing the latest Fab isn't going to resolve my issue cause it isn't a Fab problem. i will try the player trick to see if that can force it to work and post the results.

Might try uninstalling the drive in device manager, reboot computer and it will reinstall the drive. Is that the only title that is problematic? If so it could also be a defective disc.

did that also, no luck. i mentioned earlier that i have had a few others do this but got all but one of them to work. i think its a bad disc.

the player thing mentioned earlier didn't work either.

To check for a "bad disc"...

Pop in the disc > open Fab Passkey and now run scan on
VSO Inspector (freeware)

http://www.vso-software.fr/products/inspector/inspector.php

or
Nero cd-dvd speed (still available as freeware)

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cd_dvd/dvd_tools/nero_cd_speed.cfm

You can also open the disc with a software player such as VLC, hit play, stop, but do not exit the player.
Now open VSO Inspector and scan.
However, this method is not nearly as reliable.

Thank you so much! i opened the VSO Inspector and it said no media. then i opened and closed the drive the disc is in and presto, my copmuter finnaly recognized it. now Fab can see it and i can finnaly back it up. there might be something up with this movie cause i borrowed my buddy's copy and it was doing the same thing until i tried this. either way it finnaly works. thanks again.
